Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai will be shown at the 2016 Venice Film Festival as part of the festival’s classics lineup. The Venice Classics selection was published a few days ago and can be found here. Seven Samurai is on the second page.
The print screened will be the brand new Toho restoration which I mentioned earlier this year.
This year’s Venice Film Festival runs from August 31 until September 10. Other films in the classics lineup include Woody Allen’s Manhattan, John Ford’s The Brat and Andrei Tarkovsky’s Stalker and many others, all presumably new restorations.
Anyone going to Venice this year?
