KK100 (Keisuke Kinoshita's centenary)

In December in this year, it will be 100 years since the birth of Keisuke Kinoshita. Just like with Kurosawa’s centenary, a lot is apparently being planned. It seems that the Keisuke Kinoshita Centenary Project, launched by the film studio Shochiku and the city of Hamamatsu, is coordinating special anniversary screenings, digital remasters, publications, new DVD and blu-ray releases, lectures and an exhibition.

It will be interesting to see how much of this materialises. We remember how the AK100 project came and went, without much really happening, especially outside of Japan. Which was a pity, as there were some really interesting plans being mentioned.
