Hi, I’m currently researching for my major work for english; (a 2500 word essay on a topic of our choosing) for which i’m exploring the existential humanistic theory represented in the Akira Kurosawa film Ikiru.
I’m already gathered a fair few books and essays on the background material; humanistic theory, existential theory and the like. However, I currently only have two texts on Kurosawa/Ikiru; The Films of Akira Kurosawa by Donald Richie and I’ve ordered Conversations with Filmmakers: Akira Kurosawa.
Is there any other further reading that you guys would recommend? Particularly if it’s related to Ikiru and the humanism explored by Kurosawa in his work. (intentional or not). Thanks!
