Akira Kurosawa News and Information, as the admittedly rather unimaginative title already suggests, serves two primary functions: to point visitors to the latest Kurosawa related news articles, and to provide some information related to the director and his movies. Additionally, it can also serve as a meeting point and a discussion corner for those interested in the director’s films and his legacy.
This website does not, however, claim to be definitive. For one thing, there is no Akira Kurosawa biography offered here. If you need a short introduction to Kurosawa, I recommend for instance the Wikipedia article about him. Or, for some more in-depth information, I suggest you look at some of the various books written on the subject. For a filmograhy, meanwhile, you could do worse than check the IMDb entry for Akira Kurosawa.
The focus here is in offering content to those who are already familiar with Akira Kurosawa and his works. This content includes the already-mentioned news links (available also as RSS feeds) and a page listing and reviewing the various DVD releases of Kurosawa’s films. There is also a page with short reviews of various Kurosawa related books, plus a collection of Kurosawa quotes from various sources. More content may be added as time goes by.
