The company from who I rent server space is going to upgrade their equipment this weekend, and consequently akirakurosawa.info may experience downtime in the coming days.
The process is scheduled to start on Saturday morning at 01:00 UTC, which I think converts to Saturday 3 am for Central Europe, Friday 9 pm in North American Eastern Time Zone, and 1 pm in New Zealand. Or thereabouts. The process will take an estimated 10 to 30 hours to complete.
To make sure that no content is lost, I will turn off commenting and forum features on Friday, and will enable them again when everything is hunky dory. I’m not yet sure when this will be, but I would suggest that you spend your weekend outdoors, rather than hitting your browser’s refresh button!
In related news, my internet provider has meanwhile decided that I don’t need an internet connection any longer, and has cut off my access by mistake. They received a couple of somewhat fiery phone calls this morning, and promised to reconnect me as soon as possible. Hopefully, this will be sooner rather than later. Until then, I’ll be accessing the net from elsewhere, which means that I won’t be quite as active in replying to emails and such, or moderating the website.
