I just saw “Throne of Blood.” Now, I have to go back and read Macbeth :) I especially liked Asaji’s character. She reminded me a lot of Lady Kaede in “Ran.” Talk about your scheming, amoral women!

Hehe. It is, by the way, worth getting the Arden Shakespeare version of Macbeth, as it explains much of the background of the play.

I actually wonder how aware Kurosawa was of Shakespearean studies and theory. He at least doesn’t show much interest in them in his film adaptations.
